Test Stream Deck buttons without owning a Stream Deck, generate the URLs each button needs, and watch actions arrive live. No plugin required — Stream Deck's built-in "Website" action does everything here. Want to trigger your own sounds/images/GIFs instead of the built-in demo actions? Upload them in the Asset Manager using this same room name, then use /media-overlay.html?deckroom=YOUR-ROOM as a second Browser Source.

Aquarium overlay — demo actions

Open … as your Browser Source (fill in your channel first), then click "Show URL" below and paste that link into a Stream Deck button's Website action.

Chaos overlay — prank effects

Open … as a full-screen Browser Source, sitting on top of your game capture (not tucked in a corner — these are meant to take over the whole frame). No uploads needed, everything here is generated on the fly.

Set this up on a physical Stream Deck

  1. Open the Stream Deck app, and drag the Website action (under the System category) onto any button.
  2. Paste one of the URLs above into the action's URL field.
  3. Check "Open in background" (or equivalent) so nothing pops up when you press it — it just fires silently.
  4. Press the button — the connected overlay reacts instantly, no matter where OBS is running.

Want a custom action for your own overlay? Add RCKTDeck.connect('your-room') and RCKTDeck.on('yourAction', fn) to any overlay (see /deck-listener.js), then build its URL the same way: /api/deck/fire?room=YOUR-ROOM&action=yourAction.
